Should you buy gold and silver right now?

This is a question that we are asked all the time.

2011 – 2012 will be an amazing ride in the US economy. A lot of people have no clue what they should do to protect themselves. The “feel” danger coming, but are not sure if buying gold and silver is the right thing to do right now.  Well, millions of Americans are asking themselves the same question. One website seems to have some of the answers and some advice.
Released for 2011 and 2012, Buying Gold and Silver, is being updated daily with tips and advice.  However, I think you’ll be surprised that they are NOT “gold cheerleaders”.

This website walks you through many of the ways you can protect yourself, and your assets in the times ahead. A pretty good read with some good tips on the trouble our economy is facing, bubbles, and how you can increase your position / assets when markets start to tumble.

Just for the heck  of it, today I decided to Google “wikileaks”.
Love’m or Hate’m…. there is some really strange stuff going on via the web and how info is being controlled.

To my surprise their website could not be found. However, a few results down in the search results I did see an IP address.
http://213.251.145.96/ This IP did take me to what appeared to their website.
Quite interesting.  Never before in the history of Google have a seen an “IP address” displayed instead of a website name.

Now on to BING.
A search does about the same.  Limited info with mostly news stories. However, I did see this site, http://mirror.wikileaks.info which appears to be another website all together.

Now we go to Yahoo and we found this site, http://wikileaks.ch/ which is by our looking another “mirror” website.

Some think this man / organization are criminals, some find them to be heroes.  I really don’t know just yet.  I think it will take years for the dust to settle and we really see the clear picture.   For me, my concern is that their website appears to GONE and pulled from search engines as well. Pulling down websites without proof is a very scary move. Also, search engines manually manipulating the results should be a concern to all of us on the web.

Rick Sanchez fired from CNN.

Seems like CNN is starting to LEAVE the LEFT?

Money talks in the business and TV world.
CNN has been losing ratings while the Tea Party is growing by leaps and bounds.
You will see this more and more from CNN.  Pulling to the “center” and dumping those that are extreme left.

Sanchez, during the course of a 20 minute interview on comedian (and regular CNN contributor) Pete Dominick’s SiriusXM radio show, spoke about the discrimination he has felt as a Cuban-American over the course of his career, and decried what he called “elite, Northeast establishment liberals” like Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

Stewart and Colbert, he said, are among those who say “I like black people and Mexicans as long as they’re, ‘here, let me tap you on the head. Way to go, Ricky, you’re doing a good job.’”

“I think Jon Stewart’s a bigot,” Sanchez said. “I think he looks at the world through his mom, who was a school teacher, and his dad, who was a physicist or something like that. Great, I’m so happy that he grew up in a suburban middle class New Jersey home with everything you could ever imagine.”

When asked by radio host Pete Dominick (who used to work as a warm-up comic for the Daily Show) against whom he thought Stewart was bigoted, Sanchez said, “everybody else who’s not like him. Look at his show, I mean, what does he surround himself with?”

Dominick pointed out that as a Jew, Stewart was also a minority – to which Sanchez responded, snickering, “Please, what are you kidding?.. Yeah, a very powerless people.”

“I’m telling you that everybody who runs CNN is a lot like Stewart, and a lot of people who run all the other networks are a lot like Stewart,” Sanchez said. “To imply that somehow they, the people in this country who are Jewish, are an oppressed minority? Yeah.”

While many thought it was a “cute play”, there are others that are quite angry.
Even people that enjoy Colbert’s humor and show thought Congress’ time could be better spent.

Millions of Americans are out of work, many facing foreclosures, and others tired of the crime brought on by illegal immigration.
Others simply say, when you stop illegals working here the cost of goods will go up.
True, but don’t forget the reason the cost goes up.
Wages must now go up to attract American workers. Kind of a catch 22 we deal with every day.
Want a cheap TV? Buy one from China. However, you have now just cost an American a job.

Stephen Colbert’s satirical routine as a conservative commentator on “The Colbert Report” leaves millions of his fans laughing every night, but the comedian failed to amuse lawmakers Friday during a House panel hearing on farm jobs and illegal immigrants.

The Comedy Central star stayed in character during testimony as he made light of his experience working for one day as a migrant laborer on a vegetable farm in New York.

“America’s farms are presently far too dependent on immigrant labor to pick our fruits and vegetables,” Colbert said. “Now the obvious answer is for all of us to stop eating fruits and vegetables, and if you look at the recent obesity statistics, you’ll see that many Americans have already started.”

While some audience members laughed, most of the members of the House Judiciary subcommittee barely cracked a smile.

“This is America,” Colbert continued. “I don’t want a tomato picked by a Mexican. I want it picked by an American, then sliced by a Guatemalan and served by a Venezuelan in a spa where a Chilean gives me a Brazilian.”
Buzz has surrounded Colbert’s appearance ever since United Farm Workers announced Wednesday that its president would testify alongside him in Washington for a hearing on “Protecting America’s Harvest.”

The House Judiciary subcommittee hearing is about migrant farm workers and is touching on the so-called AgJOBS bill, a proposal that would give illegal immigrant farm workers a pathway to legal status.

While some Republicans criticized Democrats for inviting Colbert, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told Fox News that she believes it’s “appropriate.”

“Of course I think it’s appropriate,” she said. “He’s an American. He can bring attention to an important issue. I think it’s great.”

In his testimony, Colbert discussed his one-day experience as a migrant laborer.

“I started my my workday with preconceived notions of migrant labor, but after working with these men and women picking beans, packing corn for hours on end side by side in the unforgiving sun, I have to say — and I do mean this sincerely — please don’t make me do this again,” he said. “It is really, really hard work.”

Colbert said his day on a farm left him traumatized.

“I don’t even want to watch Green Acres again,” he said.

Colbert turned serious for a moment when he was asked why he chose to focus on this issue.

“I like talking about people that don’t have any power and it seems like one of the least powerful people in the United States are migrant workers who come and do our work but don’t have any rights as a result,” he said. “And yet we still invite them to come here and at the same time ask them to leave.”

At the beginning of the hearing, Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., chairman of the Judiciary Committee, tried to pull the plug on Colbert’s testimony in an effort “to get to the bottom” of the issue.

“I would like to recommend that now we got all this attention that you excuse yourself and you let us get on with the three witnesses and all the other members there,” he said. “I’m asking you to leave the committee room completely, and submit your statement.”

But Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., the subcommittee chairwoman who invited Colbert to testify, intervened.

“Many are eager to hear his comments,” she said.

Colbert replied that he would leave only at her request.

“I’m here at the invitation of the chairwoman, and if she would like me to remove myself from the hearing room, I am happy to do so,” he said. “I’m only here at her invitation.”

Will Gold Prices Keep Going Up

Remember an important point…

For EVERY BUBBLE there is either a “pop” or a deflation. Don’t believe us?
Remember all those years (the past 30) when people said “Real Estate is a GREAT investment, it always goes up.”  How are they doing now?
The same applies for gold and you MUST be aware of some dangers and opportunities ahead.

T Boone Pickens said in a Fox Business interview today, that he missed the “gold rally” and believes that while there is still opportunities, he sees a major pull back in gold over the next 12 months.  “I almost jumped in BIG when it was at $1100 and yes, I would have been a rich man.”  He doesn’t mess around.  Now that gold is over $1300 he said he is out of the gold play.
Dangers…
1- Panic sell off.
Watch out for some “manipulated” event that could cause gold prices to drop over 30% in a matter of weeks or even days. Central banks or even certain countries could do a MAJOR sell off causing a long term drop.

2- Fear Subsides.
Gold has only gone up this high due to fear.  When the market starts to even out, jobless rates fall, and things look a little brighter, gold prices could plunge 50%.

3- Government Manipulation.
This has happened in the past, and we do see it retuning in the possible future. What if the government started to regulate and tax the sale of ALL gold?  The health care bill actually had a “hidden provision” in it for taxing the sale of certain gold.  They want to protect BONDS and debt, not gold.


Opportunities…

We believe there will be a major drop in gold prices coming over the next 6 – 12 months. However, when most people are panic selling, that is when you need to be buying.

Buy when no one wants it, not when people are running to it.
